Healthy Tamarind and Date chutney
- Red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
- ginger powder (dry)
- Black Salt
Take a pressure cooker and add Dates, tamarind, water. Pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
Blend the tamarind mixture and date mixture to form a coarse mix.
Place the pressure cooker back on the heat and add the chili powder, cumin powder, dry ginger powder, black salt and salt to taste. Add little water to the powder for proper consistency and simmer for 3 mins.
Turn off the stove and cool the Date and Tamarind Chutney.
Store in an airtight jar. You can use this as a spread or in idlys and dosas.
